The rollout for the Find A Type Unit software solution from Versiti remains in progress. Blood Centers of America (BCA) is continuing to approach blood establishment computer software (BECS) vendors for the development of extraction programs that will transfer antigen negative units to the Find A Type Unit database.

IT Synergistics has completed its data extraction tool as of Fourth Quarter (Q4) 2020. It was included as part of the latest bexWISE release (v2.0.33.00) and is available for use; contact IT Synergistics (509-495-1000) for details.

In the meantime, blood centers still awaiting the completion of the data extraction piece for their BECS systems can sign up to search the database only (and not list units).
